Welcome to My Corner of the Internet

Hey everyone, I’m Kabya. I’m currently navigating the late nights and endless coffee cups that come with being a Computer Science and Engineering student. While a lot of my week is dedicated to standard coursework and trying to figure out why my code won’t compile, this blog is mostly about what happens when I finally close my laptop and step away from the screen.

It’s easy to get boxed into the "tech student" stereotype, so I wanted to create a space to share the other sides of my life.

What I Do Off-Screen

When I’m not staring at a monitor, I’m usually completely unplugged. Here are a few things that take up my free time:

  • Long-Distance Cycling: Getting out of the city and finding new trails is my ultimate reset button. There is nothing quite like the rhythm of a long ride to clear your head after a stressful week of exams. I’m currently plotting out a multi-day bikepacking trip for next semester.
  • Film Photography: I recently picked up an old 35mm camera from a thrift shop, and it’s completely changed how I see things. In a world where everything is instant and digital, having only 36 exposures forces you to actually slow down and compose a shot. Plus, waiting for the film to develop adds a layer of suspense you just don't get with a smartphone.
  • Culinary Experiments: I am by no means a professional chef, but I love taking complex recipes and trying to recreate them in a tiny student kitchen. It’s a lot of trial and error (and a few burnt pans), but mastering a new dish from scratch is incredibly rewarding.

What to Expect Here

I’m keeping things simple. Expect a mix of travel logs from my cycling routes, photo dumps from my recent rolls of film, and maybe a few of my more successful kitchen experiments. This is just a casual space to document life outside the lecture halls.

Thanks for dropping by!
